In today’s society we often neglect ourselves in favor of taking care of others. But what would our lives be like if we gave ourselves the love we so easily give away? How might our physical and emotional health blossom and how would it benefit those we care for?

The Sacred Self Journal™ offers a respite from the daily grind in favor of connection with spirituality and development of a stronger relationship with — and love for — the self.

Embracing the idea that we are both physical and spiritual beings simultaneously, Dr. Gina Messina guides participants on the Sacred Self journey to engage in self care while exploring opportunities for gratitude, resilience, hope, and transcendence.

In a world where women’s issues are political issues, feminism and religion are often scripted as opposing sides. But, drawing on the messages of love and social justice from within their religious traditions, women are leading feminist movements that promote positive social change at both the micro and macro levels. Religion is fueling women’s efforts to revolutionize the world!

Women Religion Revolution is a provocative collection of essays written by women who understand that being passive is not an option. Each story resonates with passion drawn from the well of faith, along with a drive to forge a connection with other women. The experiences that can shape a woman’s soul are often negative and isolating—sexual assault, domestic violence, eating disorders, addictions—but in seeking healing, in seeking to effect revolutionary change, women often find that the path leads toward other women, toward a connectedness that strengthens us all.

“Why do you stay?” It is a common question women are asked in relation to their faith. These are not women who buy into Candace Cameron’s biblically submissive theory; rather, these are women who claim a feminist identity, have membership in a particular religious tradition, and practice their faith in spite of gendered challenges.

In Faithfully Feminist 15 Christian, 15 Jewish, and 15 Muslim women share their stories of struggle and faith.

In a world where women’s issues are political issues, women are judged for their positions in relation to their claimed identities. Feminists argue that you cannot be a “true” feminist if you are a practicing Christian, Muslim, or Jew. Likewise, religious practitioners claim that you cannot be a “true” Christian, Muslim, or Jew if you support feminist values. Nevertheless, women who practice these religious traditions and hold feminist values are not uncommon, and the question “Why do you stay?” is one that is frequently asked of them.

Faithfully Feminist is the sharing of stories, encouraging other women, and acknowledging that being feminist doesn’t mean giving up on your faith.

In a nation where the majority of Evangelical and Catholic populations elected Donald J. Trump to the highest office in the land, many have been left scratching their heads. How did Jesus’ teachings result in a leader of the free world who has mocked the disabled, sexually assaulted women, and openly made racist and xenophobic statements? If Jesus was President, how would his policies measure up against those of the Trump Administration? Would Christians of the Trump Era support a President Jesus or vote him out after a single term? Arguing that Jesus was highly political, Messina uses sharp wit and humor to present his positions on social policy based on the Gospels while making comparisons to President Donald Trump and the GOP who often invoke his name.
